When Elise Cooper of McDonogh School walked into her first KOBY Curriculum session, she was an athlete with talent. But with each discussion, each lesson in self-advocacy, and each mentor conversation through KOBY, she gained something more powerful: the confidence to own her voice and seize opportunity.

Last May , Elise became Maryland’s first high school student-athlete to land a Puma NIL deal. And it wasn’t just her speed on the track that got her there — it was knowing how to present herself, knowing her value, her mom Danielle connecting with her village of professionals who understood contracts, and having the courage to negotiate. That foundation? It started in KOBY.
